Lesson Learned Along The Way From Fame to Family

Welcome to My Blog

Welcome to my blog. Why am I writing this? Because everyone keeps telling me that my life’s up-and-down adventures are interesting stories, and others should hear them. So, this is about my lifelong passage that often took me to the very limits of my understanding only to discover a far richer, and far more powerful awareness of love, life and purpose in this thing we call my life.

I wish I had a dollar for every person who has said to me, “You should write a book.” Then, I wouldn’t have to do anything…I could retire. But, I’m not the kind of person to retire, don’t plan to, because I really enjoy what I do. I help people market their businesses. And I have a TV show. And I hope still to do more.

But, I just turned 70, and I am keeping a promise I made to myself for the last few years – I’m cutting back on my work schedule. Last year, from about April through the first of November, I was putting in between 50 and 60 hours a week. It sure didn’t leave much time for fun. And I like fun!

So, the title “From Glam 2 Gram, Lessons Learned Along the Way (From Fame to Family)” is perfect for me. I was sitting sipping wine with some friends the other night, and asked them to help me come up with a name. My friends are also my clients, which is the way it works sometimes. So, among my massage therapists and my nutritionist, the new blog name popped up.

modelad1You see, I was famous once. And it is an interesting story, with some good times, hard times, and scarey times which I’ll tell you about…and about the hardest work I have ever done. I was one of those radio quiz kids when I was 12. I started a teen talk radio show when I was 12. I started modeling when I was 12. I knew Elvis when I was 8. And that is just the beginning.

I have worked very hard from the age of 12 to today. That’s 58 years of hard work. And wow, have I made some mistakes…some really huge! There was even a time where my very life (as well as my children’s) was in danger. That was a time when I then hit the bottom of my life’s barrel. And I really scraped my nails up badly climbing out. The important thing is I survived those bad times, and reveled in the good.

I had an intuitive reading the other day. She told me that I had shining lights all around my head, and shining coming from within. The shining lights all around are from all of those who love me that have passed and are still with me. The shining light from within is because I am in the most glorious place that I have ever been. Almost pure happiness!

How is that possible? Through all of the shit that I have experienced in my life, there have been some common themes – supportive and loving family and friends. My children have grown up wonderfully, so I must have done some things right. They are happy in their relationships and work. And I not only love them, but I respect them and really like who they are. And to top it all off, I am a grandmother, involved with my grandchildren every day. I have been blessed! And wow…it is the best feeling in the world to be happy.

So, this blog is going to tell my story and what I have learned along the way. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it rings some bells with you, in some way, and helps you on your own journey.

Thank you for reading another true story from my life. For more information on me, see my About Me Page.
